Hi all,
I'd like to propose a new plugin idea: an advanced user tagging system. This would go beyond the current mention system (@username) and offer more features and customization options.
Here are some of the features I envision:
* **Custom Tagging Symbols:** Allow admins to define custom symbols for tagging users, like #username or !username.
* **Group Tagging:** Ability to tag entire user groups at once, notifying all members of the group.
* **Tag Notifications:** Customizable notification settings for tags, allowing users to choose how they are notified (email, PM, alert).
* **Tag Highlighting:** Highlight tagged usernames in posts for better visibility.
* **Tag Autocomplete:** As users type a tag symbol, a dropdown menu of usernames appears for easy selection.
* **Tag Statistics:** Display statistics on user profiles, such as the number of times a user has been tagged and who has tagged them the most.
* **Integration with Reputation System:** Award reputation points to users when they are tagged in a positive context.
This plugin would provide a more powerful and flexible way to engage with users on the forum and encourage community participation.
